Dr. Arthur C. Paolella, CEO and Founder
The company founder, Dr. Arthur C. Paolella, is a Fellow of the Institute of the Electrical and Electronic Engineers and is a pioneer in the development RF over fiber technology. He has over 20 years of experience performing research and product development for two major US aerospace and communications companies, Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems and Motorola Broadband Communications Sector. Dr. Paolella is the inventor of the SidelighterTM distance to fault measurement systems and the RF FiberLighterTM distributed antenna system (DAS). He has successfully managed major projects for various Government and Department of Defense agencies. Dr. Paolella received his Ph.D. from Drexel University and BSEE from Monmouth University. He has over 15 patents and more than 60 publications in journals and conference proceeding.
 
Fred Leonberger, Advisory Board Member

Fred Leonberger is the Principal of EOvation Technologies LLC, a technology and business advisory firm he founded in 2003, and serves on the Board of Directors and/or Advisors for a number of photonics companies. He is also a Senior Advisor at the MIT Center for Integrated Photonic Systems (CIPS), where he chairs a joint MIT/industry working group focused on advanced FTTx technologies.

Dr. Leonberger previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of JDS Uniphase Corporation (JDSU). He was also a co-founder and General Manager of UTP, an optical modulator company, and has held management positions at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and United Technologies Research Center. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and a recipient of the IEEE Photonics Award. He has been involved in optoelectronics for over 25 years.

 
David Polifko, Advisory Board Member

David Polifko currently lives in San Francisco, California and has over 20 years of communication systems experience. Most recently, Mr. Polifko was with JAFCO Ventures, a US-based early stage venture firm where he provided the expertise for their communication investments and served as a board member or advisor to many of their active communications portfolio companies.

Prior to JAFCO, Mr. Polifko was one of the early employees of CIENA Corporation, where he opened their first Asian office in Tokyo, Japan and successfully led their Asian sales, marketing and support operations for three years before returning to the states.

Before joining CIENA, Mr. Polifko worked in various companies such as Bosch and AMP, designing optical components and communications systems primarily for long haul telephony systems. He was also an invited researcher for two years in Japan where he investigated microcellular communication systems at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International in Kyoto. Mr. Polifko holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering and is a member of IEEE.
